On May 6, 2026 in the Media Center, Emerson High School celebrated six senior student athletes during Senior Signing Day. The event recognized the hard work, dedication and commitment these athletes have shown throughout their high school careers as they officially announced where they will continue their athletic careers at the college level. Family, friends, coaches, teammates and teachers came to support and celebrate this exciting event.
The six seniors honored represented a variety of sports and schools. John Piccirillo committed to playing basketball at Stockton University. Nick Giella committed to playing football at William Paterson University, while Kylie Grompone will also attend William Paterson University to continue playing soccer. Sophia Centeno signed to play softball at SUNY New Paltz, Alexandra Palladino will continue her track and field career at Montclair State University, and Dylan McCormick is committed to playing football.
“It was great to see all the hard work finally pay off,” Giella said. He also added, ” I am excited for the next chapter and to compete at the next level.”
Personally, I am thankful for everyone who supported me throughout high school and helped me get to this point. I can’t wait to get to Stockton University and start practicing with the basketball team.
Senior Signing Day was a proud moment for all the athletes and their families. Each senior athlete spent years of practice, games and training to reach this point.
As the seniors prepare for graduation in a few weeks, Emerson High School will look forward to watching these athletes succeed at the college level.
