On May 1, 2026, the Emerson Cavos Baseball Team celebrated Senior Night and honored eight senior players who have dedicated many years to playing baseball. Mikey Amoia, John Piccirillo, Tony Rinkiewicz, Nick Giella, Julian Morales, Daniel Galeazza, Jayden Choinski, and Ayden Arias were all recognized before the game with their families, teammates, and coaches. For many of these players, baseball has been a part of their lives since Little League.
The ceremony celebrated not only their final season at Emerson High School, but also the memories and friendships made throughout the years. These senior players gave their town a chance to recognize their hard work, dedication, and passion for Emerson baseball.
Although the season has not gone exactly as planned, the seniors continue to give 100 percent effort every time they step on the field. The team has faced many challenges throughout the season, but the players have stayed committed and continue to support each other and their teammates.
As the regular season comes to an end, the Emerson Cavo Baseball Team is focused on hopefully making a push for the state tournament at the end of the month. The seniors hope to finish their high school baseball career on a strong note.
As one of the senior baseball players, I think it’s crazy to think this is our last season playing baseball together after playing with some of these guys since Little League.
Senior Mikey Amoia said, “Senior Night meant a lot to all of us.”
He added, “We have made so many memories playing Emerson baseball, and we want to finish the season strong and hopefully make a run in the state tournament.”
