For the first time in 27 years, the New York Knicks are heading to the NBA Finals and fans everywhere are excited. The Knicks had an unbelievable sweep of the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games during the Eastern Conference Finals. After years of disappointing seasons and playoff losses, NY Knicks basketball is finally back at the top.
The Knicks dominated the series from start to finish with strong defense, shooting and great team chemistry. Every player stepped up in every game and the energy from the fans made the series even more exciting. The final game ended with the Knicks blowing out the Cavs 130-93 and celebrating on the Cavs home court. Fans back in New York packed streets to celebrate the huge win.
Students around the school were so excited about this moment.
“I have never seen the Knicks this good in my lifetime,” senior Daniel Galeazza said.
He added, “The whole city is excited right now and it actually feels like they can win it all.”
The Knicks now move to the NBA Finals with a chance to win their first championship since 1973. They will have to wait and see who they will face, San Antonio Spurs or Oklahoma City Thunder in the first final game on June 3rd.
After years of waiting, Knicks fans finally have something to celebrate.
