College can be very nerve-racking, but also exciting, for many students. Being an incoming freshman in college often requires living away from home, handling many different responsibilities, and navigating new chapters and challenges. This presents a great opportunity to learn to live on your own, meet new people, and encounter new things.
Time management can be a struggle, especially when there is nobody around to remind you when to do what. In high school, my time management skills were great because my workload aligned with my schedule. College will be a different environment now, with a different amount of work that will be assigned.
Being involved is also important, on top of academics. This can be very stressful and overwhelming for some. It’s important to find clubs and activities outside of the classroom that interest you and make you go outside your comfort zone, but it’s not always easy to juggle schedules and meet demands.
But wait, there’s more.
Transitioning from being an only child at home all the time to living on my own will also not be too easy. Making new friends, meeting new people, and trying to navigate through a new area can be challenging.
Academic pressure is also a huge aspect of the college experience. Meeting new people or even being in a study group can make you feel at ease and more comfortable. You’re not alone. Other people are figuring out how to navigate this part of their lives, too.
Finding study habits that work for you is super important. The work we are presented with now is on a different level than in college. Making sure you find tricks and study habits that benefit you is crucial so you can succeed. The trial-and-error process is key when it comes to studying.
There is much to look forward to this fall as an incoming freshman. This is a milestone for us entering college, which is a new chapter in our lives. This is truly motivational and sets us up on the right path.
I am so excited to see what freshmen year will bring, and the unforgettable moments that will come with it!
