Emerson High School now has a brand new turf complex with both a baseball field and softball field right next to each other. The new fields provide a new space for athletes to practice and play while now giving fans a great place to watch the games.
The turf will help keep the fields in great condition throughout the season, and will allow games to be played even after rain. The two new turf fields will also give the players and the teams more opportunities for practices and games. Both the baseball and softball teams started using the new fields for practices this week.
Varsity baseball player Tony Rinkiewicz said, “It is really exciting to have a brand new turf field to play on senior year.”
All of the baseball players and coaches are really eager for the games to start. The first varsity home baseball game is scheduled for April 2nd against New Milford.
Varsity softball player Gabby Micucci said, “Having the two fields so close together is going to be special.”
She added, “It brings everyone together and will make game days even more exciting.”
The first varsity home softball game is scheduled for April 6th against Glen Rock.
The new turf fields are almost 100 percent fully ready for games. The baseball and softball players are ready to step on the turf, compete with their teams, and win games. Everyone needs to come check out the new turf fields and support the Cavo Baseball and Softball teams this season!
