The Emerson Boys Varsity Baseball team is ready to begin an exciting season on the school’s brand new turf field complex. The team had four competitive preseason scrimmages to get prepared and motivated as they officially kicked off the season next week.
Senior Mikey Amoia said, “The team has really worked hard in the preseason.”
He added, “We have a lot of confidence in each other and we are excited to compete this season.”
The Cavos will open their season on Tuesday, March 31 with an away game at Cresskill. This year The Cavos are in the new NJIC – Meadowland Division. The Cavos will play league teams from Butler, Dwight Englewood, Midland Park, Rutherford and Wood-Ridge.
The Boys Varsity Baseball team has eight seniors returning to the field: seniors, Mikey Amoia (pitcher, first base), John Piccirillo (outfield, pitcher), Julian Morales (outfield), Nick Giella (outfield), Tony Rinkiewicz (outfield, pitcher), Daniel Galeazza (third base), Ayden Arias (outfield) and Jayden Choinski (outfield). The Emerson Varsity Baseball team is eager to start the season and compete at a high level throughout the schedule.
Senior Daniel Galeazza said, ” I am excited to play my final high school season with all my friends.”
He reflected, “We all grew up playing baseball together.”
All of the seniors and players are eager to make this season a memorable one.
