The Emerson Boys Varsity Basketball Team won the PFA Classic Tournament.  Emerson opened tournament play with a 67-46 win over Rutherford, setting the tone with strong defense and balanced scoring.  Leading scorers of the game were: John Kennedy with 28 points, John Piccirillo with 26 points, and Ryan Leone with 9 points. The Cavos controlled the pace of the game and pulled away in the second half to advance to the championship round.

In the championship game, Emerson faced Park Ridge in a hard-fought match-up.  The Cavos secured the title with an impressive 55-39 win over Park Ridge using strong defense and smart offense. Leading scorers of the game were: John Kennedy with 21 points, John Piccirillo with 17 points, and Ryan Leone with 12 points. Key stops and timely baskets in the final minutes helped Emerson seal the victory and bring home the tournament trophy. 

“This tournament showed how well we work together as a team,” said Junior player John Kennedy. 

“Everyone contributed and we stayed focused in every game,” said Junior Ryan Leone.

Winning the PFA Classic Tournament was a proud moment for Emerson Junior-Senior High School, and a sign of an exciting season ahead for The Emerson Boys Varsity Basketball Team.
