The New York Giants’ season has been rough, yet again. The Giants were 9-7 in 2022, and before that, didn’t have a .500 win pct. since 2017. So Giants fans are used to having low expectations. Going into the 2024 season, there were a lot of speculations. After letting veteran running back Saquon Barkley go to the Philadelphia Eagles, Giants fans were starting to lose hope – especially without a definite solid quarterback, and not a strong enough backfield to fill in the hole that the Giants created when getting rid of Saquon.
The Giants’ season started off terribly, with a 40-0 loss against the Dallas Cowboys. However, a bounce-back week with a 31-28 victory over the Baltimore Ravens led fans to believe that week 1 wasn’t a real display of the Giants’ talent. Week 3 disappointed fans again, with a loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Since week 3, the Giants are 1-11.
After a poor 2023-24 season, the Giants earned the 6th pick in the 2024 Draft. The Giants selected stud wide receiver Malik Nabers out of LSU (Louisiana State University). The Giants’ plan was to build their new stud wide out around quarterback Daniel Jones and their supposed “lockdown” defense, but there was a problem. Daniel Jones has completely under-performed at the quarterback spot, and has consistently been losing games for New York. Therefore, the Giants had to release the young quarterback and look to use backup quarterbacks Tommy DeVito and Drew Lock.
Giants fans are out of hope for the 2024-25 season, and are waiting for something, or someone, to turn their team around.
