The first day of spring arrives on March 20, bringing warmer weather, longer days, and a fresh start after the cold winter months. This winter has been full of snow and chilly days, but now, students at school are looking forward to spending more time outside, enjoying the sunshine, and beginning their spring sports season.
The start of spring marks the official transition from winter to a season known for warm temperatures, blooming flowers, and longer daylight hours. For students, it also signals a shift in daily life, as more time is spent outdoors and school activities begin to move outside again.
As the weather begins to warm up, many students say the change in season improves their mood and energy levels. With more sunlight and comfortable heat, spring also reminds students that the end of the school year is getting closer, giving many an extra boost of motivation to finish the year strong.
“Spring makes me so happy, after feeling the winter depression,” said Kaylee Aguilera, a senior at EHS.
Many students say that the warmer weather makes school days more enjoyable. After school sports, bike riding during the weekend, and playing classic games in the sunshine are small changes that make a big difference during the spring months.
“I would describe spring as refreshing because everything starts to feel new again after winter,” added Kaylee.
A lot of students agree that spring brings a sense of renewal and energy. After months of cold weather, the colors of flowers, green grass, and bright blue skies makes everything seem more alive. This “refreshing” atmosphere encourages students to spend more time outdoors, try new activities, and approach their schoolwork with a positive mindset.
With flowers blooming, sunny days, and the school year heading toward its final stretch, the first day of spring signals a season of growth, energy, and new beginnings for everyone at EHS.
