Conan Gray has recently begun his North American leg of the Wishbone World Tour! From February 19th to March 20th, Gray, with special guest Esha Tewari, will be appearing on stages all across America for thousands of fans to see.
Friday, February 27th, he performed at Newark’s Prudential Center, and Saturday the 28th at the UBS Arena in Elmont.
The show consists of four main acts:
- ‘act i – a wishbone never breaks even’
- ‘act ii – i got the short end of the stick’
- ‘act iii – i took the long way to realization’
- ‘act iv – i wished for love, and i found it’
Due to the fun and spontaneous nature of the tour, shown later by changing sets and dramatic lights, Gray biked rather than walked on stage, dressed in his iconic sailor outfit seen on his latest album’s cover.
Norah Smith, who saw the show on the 27th, stated, “I had a crazy reaction to him walking (biking) on stage. I have this on camera actually, and I believe it was me screaming ‘OH MY GOD!’ really loud, and almost crying, because it is very surreal. His songs are always the first method I use to make me feel better when I get overwhelmed with anxiety, and his tone just makes me feel at home. It was such a crazy thing to see the man that makes my literal therapy live on stage!”
Haley Karathomas, who attended Saturday, explained, “When I got the tickets, I had no idea what to expect. I just knew he would put on a great show, and I had a feeling the concert would have such a good vibe and energy. But after the concert, it completely exceeded my expectations. The whole show was put together so well—the energy was amazing, and the setlist and his overall performance were unbelievable.”
Each night of the tour, Gray picks one of his songs to perform acoustic for the crowd, a segment between the second and third act called Conan’s Campfire. Friday, he performed “Footnote” off of his album Superache, and Saturday he played “Winner” from Found Heaven.
Conan’s second surprise song was chosen both nights by a fan by breaking a literal wishbone with someone in the crowd. Whoever got the bigger end was the one to choose the song. Friday, he played “Lookalike” off of Sunset Season, and Saturday he played his hit “The Exit” from Superache.
Karathomas said, “I couldn’t believe ‘The Exit’ was chosen as the surprise song—my friends and I were freaking out. The options were ‘The Exit’ and ‘Astronomy,’ and as much as I love ‘The Exit,’ I really wanted ‘Astronomy.’ But once he started singing, I didn’t even care anymore.”
Conan gray has been adored for years, gaining a lot of popularity following his debut album Kid Krow, and obviously, the success of his song “Heather”.
Since then, he has released albums Superache (2022), Found Heaven (2024), and Wishbone (2025).
Smith states, “The first time I heard Conan was in 2022. I was still very young, and it was just “Heather” at that point. At the age I was, I don’t think I would appreciate his music style as much as I do now. I became a bigger hardcore fan, more in 2025, with the release of his album, Wishbone.”
Another hit of the tour was Gray’s live performance of an unreleased song titled ‘The Best.’ Many fans have reacted positively to this and eagerly await the studio recording.
“I think my favorite moment in the show was when he played his unreleased song ‘The Best’, for two reasons. One, is that that song is amazing, and Conan ate with it. But the other REALLY funny one was I got excited when the song mentioned my favorite ice cream flavor (mint chocolate!). I had heard he was playing it beforehand, and I also have this on video, so I realized was screaming ‘HE’S DOING THE BEST, HE’S DOING THE BEST!'” Smith explained.
Karathomas added, “The whole thing was my favorite, and it’s so hard to choose just one moment, but I’d have to say either the campfire section—because I got one of my favorite Conan songs, “Winner,” and my friends and I were freaking out—or his encore.”
As his tour slowly comes to a close, those who were able to see Gray live were really in for a treat!
