On Saturday, October 18, from 9:30- 11:30 am, the Cavo Cancer Crushers decorated the windows of cars at the Emerson Jr./Sr. High School parking lot with bright pink chalk markers to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month and bring attention to the cause.
Donors gave ten dollars each to have their car decorated in their choice of designs, and teams of artists worked together to create colorful windows to support Breast Cancer awareness and celebrate survivors. All decorations included the iconic pink bow that symbolizes hope and support.
Amila Metjahic, a member of the club, said, “It was so much fun, but sometimes I got more paint on myself than I did on the windows.”
Most members of the club agreed that the event was important for two reasons: supporting a good cause and supporting the team, and working with friends to make a difference. Cars with the colorful pink windows can be spotted all around town, and it shows how much our community cares.
Any students interested in joining the Cavo Cancer Crushers should contact Mrs. Rehak or Mrs. Loblanco.
