Now that AP exams are over, students at Emerson Junior-Senior High School are reflecting on how they think they performed and predicting what scores they may receive later this summer.

The Advanced Placement Exams are college-level tests taken by high school students across the country in subjects like English, math, science, and history. Although official scores have not been released yet, many students already have ideas about how they’ve performed based on how confident they felt during the exams.

Most colleges accept scores of 3 or higher for college credit, making the exams an important opportunity for students hoping to earn credits before college.

Julia Seretis, who took AP Literature and AP Calculus this year, said she felt pretty confident after finishing her exams. “I think both exams went pretty well overall, especially AP Lit,” Seretis said.

While the official scores have not been released, Seretis already has predictions for how she thinks she performed.

“I think I’ll probably get a 4 on AP Literature and maybe a 3 on AP Calculus,” she said.

Out of the two exams, Seretis said AP Literature was the one she felt strongest about. “I feel best about AP Lit because I thought the essays and multiple choice went pretty well,” Seretis explained.

Like many students, Seretis said the biggest feeling after finishing the exams was relief after weeks of studying and preparation.

As someone who took many AP exams as well, Seretis’s feeling could not be more accurate. I had stress building up until the moment the test started but, when it did, I got super focused and stayed confident the whole entire time.

“I felt relieved because all the stress and studying was finally over,” Seretis said.
