Families across Emerson celebrated Mother’s Day by spending time together, going out to eat, and giving gifts to show appreciation for their moms.
Mother’s Day is celebrated every year in May and gives families a chance to recognize and thank mothers for everything they do. Many students spent the day with family, while others gave cards, flowers, or small gifts to celebrate the occasion.
For students, the holiday is also an opportunity to show appreciation in personal ways, whether through spending time together or giving meaningful presents.
Talking about how he spent Mother’s Day, Nate Caiola said his family kept things simple and focused on spending time together.
“For Mother’s Day, my family and I went out to dinner and spent the day together,” Caiola said.
Along with spending time as a family, Caiola also picked out gifts for his mom.
“I got my mom flowers and a gift card because I knew she would like that,” he said.
Many students celebrated in similar ways, using the holiday as a chance to relax with family and show appreciation for their moms. Some gave gifts, while others focused more on quality time together.
“It’s important because it gives everyone a chance to appreciate everything their moms do for them,” Caiola said.
