Stepping into the near future, college is close. Very close. This entire year has flown by extremely quickly for me while I’ve been under lots of pressure to do my best and prepare for the next part of my journey.
Applying to colleges, keeping grades up, and making sure all your materials stay together in line is not as easy as it may seem.
I am going to Sacred Heart University in late summer, and so many activities await me.
Transitioning from high school to college is definitely going to be a huge challenge and change. Not only will the environment be different, but also the level of classwork
. Then there’s how each day will go. I am used to running on a schedule of periods 1, 2, 3, and 4 back to back, but college classes are more spread out – both time-wise and campus-wise.
This is going to be a major adjustment, which I will adapt to over time.
Now that senior year is coming to an end, the pressure is on. Looking for dorm materials, planning exams, and figuring out what paths you’re going to take can be stressful – but it can be done.
Finding a roommate was not easy. After talking to multiple people, it took a lot to find the right person.
One of my classmates, Mackenzie McGuinness, stated, “ I feel like every conversation I have sounds the same”.
I agree. I’ve had those conversations a few times myself.
“What are you majoring in?”
“Are you rushing?” (Applying to a sorority.)
Am I rushing? This year seems to be.
It can sometimes be hard to adapt to someone or something new when you’re used to something different, but I am super excited to start a new chapter of my life and begin college, meeting new people and trying many new things. This experience is going to be completely different from high school, but it’s going to be exciting to overcome each challenge and encounter each adventure.
I’m eager and ready to get involved, meet new people, and try new things.
Sacred Heart, here I come!
