Thanks to the Positivity Pit Stop at Emerson Junior-Senior High School, students have the opportunity to come together and spread positivity throughout the building in a simple yet impactful way. Influenced by the school culture, PLG teachers wanted to find meaningful ways to strengthen the school community. 

“We hope students walk away feeling valued, supported, and more connected to their peers and teachers. Even small moments of encouragement can boost someone’s day, and we want students to recognize the power of positivity and kindness in their everyday interactions,” commented Mr. Hinds.

The Pit Stop helps create a more uplifting school environment, allowing both teachers and staff to spread kindness, inclusion, encouragement, and respect.

Here’s how it works: Staff and students write a note to recognize and appreciate one another, then slip it into the box. Later on, the note is passed down to that person to fill them with positive energy!

“My favorite part of the Positivity Pit Stop is seeing how a simple message can make someone’s day and strengthen connections between students and staff,” explained Mr. Sommerhalter.
