I have officially committed to the University of Delaware for fall 2026, where I plan to major in human services! I chose this school not only for its strong academics, but also for its beautiful campus, welcoming atmosphere, and the opportunities it offers to work with children and help others. 

For me, this decision is about more than just picking a college – it’s about choosing a future. I have always felt drawn to helping people, especially kids, and I want to be someone who can support and guide them, especially during difficult times. Choosing human services feels like the perfect way to turn that passion into something real and meaningful.

What really stood out to me about the University of Delaware was the overall environment. The campus was beautiful and it felt like a place where I could grow, not just academically, but personally too. There are so many opportunities to get involved, especially human-based clubs, which is something that I feel like I could get a lot out of. I could easily picture myself walking to class, hanging out with friends, and feeling at home there. That feeling played a huge role in my decision.

Through human services, I will be learning about counseling, social work, and ways to support communities. What excites me most is that it’s not just learning from a textbook – I will get real experiences that prepare me to actually help people. When I went to the admitted students day, I was told that during my senior year at the University, I will spend most of my class time doing internships at different schools and settings to give me real-world experience.

Campus life is another big reason why I chose Delaware. There are so many clubs, events, and activities that make it easy to get involved and meet new people. Delaware is highly known for its successful football team, the Blue Hens. Students, friends, and even families come together to tailgate before the game and have the opportunity to watch the team in their big outside stadium. Delaware seems like a place where there’s always something going on, but it feels comfortable and welcoming at the same time. 

With a clear passion for helping children and a campus that already feels like home, I’m really excited to step into this next chapter and grow into someone who can truly make a difference.
