The turf field at Emerson Junior-Senior High School has become an important part of the town, giving students and the community a better place for sports, events, and everyday activities.

Before the turf was installed, the school used a regular grass field that would often get muddy and worn down from heavy use. As Emerson’s athletic programs have grown, it became clear that a more reliable and long-lasting surface was needed. The switch to turf allows teams to practice and compete more consistently throughout the year.

The new field didn’t just improve playing conditions, it also changed the atmosphere of school events. Friday night football games now feel more exciting, with bright lights and a clean, professional-looking field bringing the community together.

“The turf field makes everything feel more professional and exciting, especially during games,” said Nate Caiola.

The impact of the field goes beyond just football. It is used by multiple sports teams, physical education classes, and even local youth programs. This makes it a shared space where younger kids can imagine themselves playing for Emerson one day.

“It’s a lot better than the old grass field because we can use it more and it doesn’t get messed up,” said Evan Kersul.

As Emerson continues to grow, the turf field represents both progress and tradition. It gives students better facilities while still keeping the strong sense of school pride that the town is known for.

The field has become more than just a place to play it’s where the community comes together and creates lasting memories.
