Psssst! Did you hear? Listen to this!
Some secrets are closely guarded, others find their way into conversation with ease. Granted, it’s difficult to keep any information under wraps in a small town or a school setting. Friday’s announcement, however, was definitely a surprise – and an especially happy one for two particular Cavos.
Briella Donahue has been named Valedictorian, and Jacob Murphy, Salutatorian of the Class of 2026!
Faculty and staff gathered to cheer on (and discover the identity) of this year’s picks. While some shared whispers and hints, others were already in the know.
Principal Brian Hutchinson’s excitement was evident as he led the two through the Media Center’s doors. Both students seemed a little confused and surprised, but pleased when they discovered what was really happening.
Principal Hutchinson then delivered a speech praising the pair, exclaiming how they were truly representative of EHS.
Donahue and Murphy took their seats at the table, smiled for photos for the yearbook and paper (as well as for family, faculty, and friends), and then took turns posing with their parents.
Mr. Murphy and Mrs. Donahue both shared their own words of thanks, pride, and joy.
After some hugs and applause, people slowly wended their way out of the celebration and back into the hallowed halls of Cavo Country.
So now this secret is out!
Congratulations, Briella and Jacob!
