Security cameras at Nancy Guthrie’s home in Tucson, Arizona, were disconnected between 1:47 a.m. and 2:28 a.m. on February 1, 2026. Authorities claim the 84-year-old was abducted from her home, and reported that blood was identified on her front porch. The search has reached its third week.
Nancy Guthrie is the mother of Savannah Guthrie, a well-known American journalist and broadcaster. She has been with NBC News as a co-anchor since 2012. Recently, the network announced her leave of absence due to a family emergency. Savannah and her siblings have been active on social media pleading for their mother to be returned home.
“It’s been two weeks since our mom was taken, and I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope. And we still believe,” Savannah said on her Instagram page.
Supporters have shared comments on Savannah’s posts, sending love and hope her way, while others want answers about the case.
According to Savannah and social media reports, her mother’s kidnapper demanded around 6 million dollars in Bitcoin, while her family responded, “This is very valuable to us, and we will pay.”

- The FBI increased its reward up to $100,000 for information leading to Nancy’s location or whoever took her.
- The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said on February 17, 2026, that DNA was discovered from gloves, just 2 miles away from her home. While testing the DNA, the gloves did not match anybody in the national database.
“We’re not going to give up. We’re going to find Nancy, and we’re going to find out who did this,” stated County Sheriff Chris Nanos.
