GHOST is a popular energy drink and supplement brand among athletes, gym-goers, and many people who enjoy their energy drinks, protein powders, and more.
GHOST was launched in 2016 by founder Dan Lourenco and Ryan Hughes; they originally started off as a gym-focused brand making pre- workouts, protein powders, recovery supplements, and more. But with their launch of GHOST energy drinks in 2020, the brand really started to make a name for itself.
Any grocery store or gas station you go to, chances are you will see GHOST energy and their tons of flavors.
More than we have ever seen before, Gen Z and teenagers are falling in love with the gym – especially with the rise of social media. Many teenagers not only go to the gym, but love it and put multiple hours a day into their progress. This means that, alongside athletes, or ordinary energy drink enjoyers, GHOST has become noticeably one of the top energy drink brands of the past few years.
The original partnership between Mondelēz and GHOST began in 2018, and expired last month. However, Mondelēz claims GHOST continued to distribute co-branded products even after the official expiration of the partnership.
For this reason, Mondelēz International filed a lawsuit last month aiming to end any production of GHOST energy drinks that use brands like Sour Patch Kids and Swedish Fish. GHOST officially announced the discontinuation of their MondelēM-partnered products in early may. These flavors have been many people’s go-to flavors since their release.
On their Instagram, GHOST has hinted multiple times at the possible return of their “Sour Strips Rainbow” flavor and partnership. They also released a new iced tea lemonade flavor in mid-late may, and additionally have recently announced the return of their seasonal “Cotton Candy” and “Strawberry Splash” flavored energy drinks partnered with Bubblicious.
Although many are sad to see some of their favorite flavors go, it is highly unlikely that GHOST will stop continuing to become more and more popular each year with their amazing marketing and with the constant uprise of energy drink consumers.
