Most people have experienced stress in their life in some type of form. However, the majority of people don’t pay attention to how important it is to handle it. Stress can cause multiple mental and physical health issues. Although this topic isn’t talked about as much as it should be, learning where to find access to help and assistance can positively improve the well being of oneself.
To begin with, stress can be found in any place or situation. There are many different possible causes or reasons for someone to feel stress. For instance, at school there could be work that piles up and needs to be done by the due date.
As said by a student, Nicole Blau, “Being stressed affects me heavily throughout the day, it affects my ability to focus during class and do my work to my greatest ability, which is upsetting to me because I do better when I know I gave it my all and have a good academic performance.”
When stress becomes too much to deal with it can affect day to day activities.
Moreover, Blau said, “It is important to deal with stress because if you let it be, it can affect your mental health which can affect your academic performance, relationships, interests, enjoyment, and so many other things. Always put your mental health first.”
It is clear that if stress is not managed and left ignored it can negatively influence someone’s thought and mindset.
Another student pointed out a way to manage stress, Briana Lazar said, “Take deep breaths, locate what exactly is bothering you and break the problem down into easier steps or even ask for help”.
As said, there are many effects. Stress can change, drain, and take the joy out of things, but remember that no one is alone, and there are always people around who are willing to help in the process of finding a solution.
