The first few weeks of May are a tumultuous time for any high school, including Emerson, as students prepare to take the esteemed AP Exams. AP students all over the world prepare all year to take this exam in May all in hopes of passing with high enough marks to earn college credit.
“I take AP classes to challenge myself and try to earn credit for college,” said senior Nathaniel Falcon.
This year AP season continues as usual as it always has since its creation in the 1950s. At Emerson, many students are in all sorts of AP classes from AP Calculus AB to AP Biology and AP Literature and Composition. This means many will have to take on the challenge of studying for multiple APs at once. This is no easy feat and students are sure to be feeling all kinds of emotions during this stressful time.
However, now that AP season is over students finally have the opportunity to relax and get some well-deserved rest. It is officially the time when AP students and AP teachers alike can lock out for the remainder of the school year. Students can now also share their thoughts on the exams and their performances on them.
“I didn’t study much so I’m not sure how well I did, but I think I did okay,” said senior Bomina Kim. “AP lang was definitely the easiest while AP calc and AP bio were more challenging.”
All will be revealed on July 8th when students get their scores back, but until then students will have to sit in anticipation and speculation as to what scores will be staring back at them in the midst of their summer vacation. Congratulations and condolences in advance!
