On November 6, the Class of 2020 recently went on a field trip to the 9/11 Museum and Observatory. The trip cost $62 with lunch, which was a very reasonable price. This was the first trip for the class of 2020 as seniors, which was exciting.

I thought the trip was a lot of fun. We got to spend time with each other, and got to remember and admire all the people who lost their lives during 9/11. We were told that a lot of families go there to remember their loved ones, which was eye opening.

I could tell who was there to just visit, and who was there to remember their loved ones. I thought it was crazy that we were surrounded by families who still suffer from losing their loved ones during the 9/11 attack.

One of the reasons the advisors of the class of 2020 arranged the trip to the 9/11 Museum and the Observatory is because they wanted everyone who did not have the chance to go and experience it. I have been there before, however, I am so happy I got to visit again because this time I actually had enough time to go through all of the different exhibits.

I asked some of the senior students about their opinion on the trip, and all of them gave very positive feedback.

Senior Madison Meltzer said, “I really enjoyed the trip because it was interesting to learn and see more about 9/11. My favorite part about the trip is the observatory because seeing the view of the city from that angle was very cool.”

Senior Suzanne Grannuci said, “I loved seeing the city from the observatory and spending the whole day with our grade.”

“It was good, at one point I watched an 11 minute video about how the rebuilt all the damage, it was very hard to but they did it” senior Daniel Murphy said.

Overall, the trip was important and eye opening. I’m really glad we got the chance to visit the museum as a grade. I think spending the day there made us closer, and gave us a lense to even further remember and respect the Americans who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks.
