On June 5th, the Cavopalooza was held on the front lawn of Emerson Junior Senior High School. The Cavopalooza is a way for students and staff to showcase their skills in a variety of shows like singing and playing musical instruments.
The performances began at 7 pm, but many people gathered as early as 6 pm to eat food like pizza, ice cream, tacos, and a variety of snacks. Many people filled the lawn, relaxing on lawn chairs and blankets making it a very relaxing outdoor vibe.
Although I didn’t stay for the whole show, from what I got to observe, this was not an ordinary talent show but a way for people to share their artistic ability and school spirit.
Nicole Blau a freshman year student at EJSHS who attended the Cavopalooza said, “A performance I enjoyed is when an art teacher performed the song ‘Creep’; this performance really stood out to me because that song is a popular song among us teenagers and it was a pleasant surprise to see a teacher with great taste in music.”
Another student, Catalina Menez Lopez added, “I think it was very well organized and the performers did a good job. It was a very unique show.”
This was my first time experiencing Cavopalooza and I’m really glad I went. Whether you’re performing, or just watching, there is something there for everyone to enjoy!
