Recently, a 7-Eleven store was introduced to Emerson, New Jersey, by Robert Obenauer. Obenauer wanted to open this store in Emerson because he was born and raised there. He thought Emerson hadn’t seen a new gas station or store in decades, and that it was a good opportunity to bring something clean, new, and dependable into the town.
The 7-Eleven is located on 161 Kinderkamack Rd. There is parking in front of the store, behind it, and across the street in the old Boston Market parking lot. The store always has a good number of people inside, and they have a wide variety of candy, drinks, and more! There is usually something new and trending available at the register, and the choices change often. Last week, Dubai chocolate bars were for sale, and before that, freeze-dried candy. There are many options to keep the customers excited and satisfied.
Demi Graham commented, “ I like the new 7-Eleven because I can get anything I want, and the workers are friendly!”
Allie DeOrio added, “7-Eleven is a good staple in the Emerson community and will be beneficial to the town.”
The new 7-Eleven has had a terrific start, and many people seem satisfied to have this convenience store in town! The workers are constantly wiping down the counters and mopping to keep the floors from being sticky. Not only are they dedicated to keeping the store clean, but they are also extremely friendly and pleasant, often greeting the customers walking in by name.
Robert Obenauer said, “The reaction from the community has been fantastic. Customers have commented that they appreciate having a nice, clean store in town, and also appreciate having a more aesthetically appealing building than most other 7-Eleven locations. I’ve noticed so many familiar faces, such as former school classmates, teachers, friends, and neighbors. It’s been wonderful to visit with people that I’ve known for the majority of my life. I also do my best to locate local workers who are part of the local community whenever I need to hire, and I believe that makes it seem like it’s a true part of Emerson.”
In the future, Obenauer mentioned, “I’m opening a new Wayback Burgers and Molte Pizze in the old Boston Market building in Emerson. This is particularly exciting because it will be the first Molte Pizze shop, with plans of expanding the brand across the country to many of the other nearly 200 Wayback Burger locations.”
Wayback Burgers may possibly open in July with outdoor seating. The menu will have some great options, including milkshakes and different styles of pizza. Obenauer has many other projects in the works around Bergen County, but he said, “Emerson will always be my favorite and the place that is my home.”
Many new food joints are coming to Emerson, and the community is very excited for them to open!
