The 2025 Major League Baseball season is off to a crazy start, with players making names for themselves, unexpected turnarounds, and so much more.
The MLB has two leagues, with three divisions in East, National and American Leagues, and Central East, and West divisions, with five teams in each division.
Here are the leaders of the 2025 season so far :
NL East – New York Yankees 17-12
NL West – Detroit Tigers 18-11
NL Central – Seattle Mariners 16-12
AL East – New York Mets 20-9 (first team to 20 wins)
AL West – Chicago Cubs 17-12
AL Central – Los Angeles Dodgers 19-10
Local to the New Jersey/New York area, the New York Mets have been on a roll. They became the first team in the whole MLB to reach 20 wins, and they have the highest run differential at +50, meaning in total they have scored 50 more runs compared to runs that they have allowed against them. The Mets thrive in New York currently standing at 12 wins and 1 loss at home games, when they have 8 wins and 8 losses while playing games on the road.
In similar territory, the New York Yankees lead their division 10-5 at home and 7-7 on the road. Led by last year’s American League MVP Award Winner, Aaron Judge, who has been off to a hot start leading the MLB in batting average at .405, meaning he has recorded 45 hits in 111 at bats.
Both New York teams have players in the top 3, players leading the MLB in RBI (runs batted in) – Pete Alonso of the Mets, and Aaron Judge of the Yankees.
Although it is early, New York fans are looking very optimistic for the future of the season, and fans all around are excited to see how their own teams will hold up.
