The Emerson Girls Varsity Soccer Team has been striding throughout the season here in Emerson, NJ. Throughout September, the team, under the guidance of Coach Vietri, has shown remarkable performance and dedication. This article aims to bring more attention to the team’s hard work and achievements.
The soccer team started early into the summer, doing a lot of conditioning and preparation, waiting for the season to come. They began with an amazing home opener against Lodi that led them to a great start. Coach Vietri made sure that the team was focused and ready for other games to come by making them work to the best of their abilities during practice.
The girls have high hopes that this fall season will be better than the last soccer season. Members of the soccer team, along with Coach Vietri, were eager to share their highlights of this year.
“The energy this year is extremely different from last year. There’s more focus and drive this year – which has been awesome to have,” Vietri claims. This suggests a positive change in the team’s dynamics. The increased focus and drive indicate a more dedicated and motivated team. This energy shift could be a result of improved teamwork, new leadership, or a renewed sense of purpose. It has resulted in a significant improvement in the team’s overall performance and a more enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
On the topic of being focused, Gillian Pasqualino states, “It is easy for me to stay focused throughout the game because when I’m not involved in the play, I get to watch the game from our half. I always make sure to think about what I would do and where I would go in many different situations.” This ability to observe and analyze is key to any successful athlete. The ability to stay focused on the game even when people are not directly involved shows a level of discipline and mental strength that is often overlooked.
Speaking of improvement and teamwork, Kaajal Thakkar claims, “This season I think our team’s energy and teamwork are much better than it has been, and it was seen during our away game vs. Midland Park.” Kaajal’s statement highlights the progress made by the team this season. She emphasizes the noticeable improvement in both energy levels and collaborative efforts. This positive team dynamic was evident during the away game against Midland Park. The team’s performance will lead to more successful outcomes.
This game was very back-and-forth. The Cavos were down in the first half to start, but fought to stay in the game. Then, they went into overtime and tied the game up to 3-3 and, collectively as a team, they agreed that they were not losing this game. Their winning mentality brought them together and one minute into overtime they scored and secured the win!
The soccer team has been displaying commitment and solidarity both on and off the field. With a sharper focus and improved team chemistry, they have secured crucial victories under the leadership of Coach Vietri. The team’s dedication to hard training is clearly paying off with their electric wins. Their perseverance and collective effort have laid a foundation for future achievements as they advance with confidence, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
