Ukraine War Update

The war between Russia and Ukraine has been going on for a little over a year now. According to CNBC.com, so far at least 8,006 people have  died and 13,287 people were injured. Nearly 15,000 Soviet soldiers have been killed and another 35,000 wounded.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has visited the southern region of Ukraine, and promised to restore everything that has been destroyed following Russia’s invasion.

Ukraine staged a successful counteroffensive against Russia late last year. The Ukrainian counteroffensive pushed Russian troops out of the regional capital Kherson after months of trying.

“I spoke with local residents about their current issues and needs,” Zelenskyy wrote on the Telegram messaging app under footage of the Kherson region.

“We will restore everything, we will rebuild everything. Just like with every city and village that suffered because of the occupiers.”

The war is still going on and many people are still being affected a year later. But it is starting to slow down a little and everybody is just trying to get to a safer place because they don’t know where or when the next attack could happen.

Now China has been looking to position as a peace broker between Russia and Ukraine for a while, but many people say it could be a lost cause.

“I am grateful to everyone who works for this and returns the light to our people!” President Volodymyr Zelinsky has been happy with all of the help he has been getting, but he still needs more help because they are still under attack.
