The seniors  kicked off the start of their last year at Emerson with a barbeque and games on the turf on September 2.

The class of 2022 had the opportunity to come together to enjoy a fun evening before the start of their senior year. It was a great way for everyone to see each other after an unprecedented school year, with some students being virtual and not seeing their classmates in a long time.

“I had fun at the senior barbeque and I played a lot of corn hole with some friends. It was a great night and I got to see a lot of people I haven’t seen in a while!” said senior Jamie Falotico.

This night was made possible thanks to class advisers Ms. Murphy and Mr. Bliss along with class officers, Natalia Baron, Katie Tenebruso, Kristen Morgan, Alex Sanmartin, and Sarah Jablin. They all wanted to organize this barbeque in order to bring everyone together and start off the year on the right foot.

“They’re a grade that for the most part really gets along, and so the fact that everyone from different cliques and different walks of life were able to come together before senior year was a great way to kick off the fall,”  said Ms. Murphy.

This class has a special bond allowing them to really enjoy their time together and have fun! They know each other well and are an inspiration towards the underclassmen. It will be hard for EHS to let this class go.

The Class of 2022 has a lot more exciting events coming up for the year. “For the seniors, we obviously have pep rally and powderpuff which we are going to crush. We are doing pumpkin carving and pumpkin painting in October. We’re running field day for Villano and Memorial students in October, so we will have a lot going on for the senior class!” said Ms. Murphy.

If the rest of the year goes the same way the barbeque did, the seniors can expect a fun year.  Hopefully, everything will go as planned and they will have a normal year where they can do everything to live their senior year to the fullest.
