The Emerson softball team is having a great season so far. They are 17-4 overall and 11-1 in the NJIC -Patriot League.

The team has wins against strong teams like Waldwick, Park Ridge, Westwood, Bergen Tech, Midland Park, and many others.

Natalie Graham, the starting pitcher for the team, has over 85 strikeouts for the season and is doing very well on the mound. She is only a sophomore, so the team is very excited to have her for the next three years.

Eleeza Kapadia is a freshman on the team. She is a catcher and shortstop. When asked what she thinks of the team and future seasons, she says, “I am very excited for the rest of this season and the upcoming years.”

Emerson got the 1st seed in the state tournament and will play the 16th seed, Wallkill Valley, on June 1st. This means Emerson will have home field advantage throughout the state games. Emerson also tied Midland Park for the league, so both towns are league champs.

Jamie Falotico, the star shortstop on the team, is leading the team in hits this season so far. She has 34 hits, 22 RBI (runs batted in), seven doubles and five triples. She definitely has a bright softball future ahead of her.

The strength of the team is in batting. The team is batting around .400 combined. They have over 225 hits in the season, and the team averages around ten runs a game. Senior Bella DelValle and sophomore Natalie Graham have also been killing it at the plate.  They both have over 30 hits and many RBIs.

The Emerson JV softball team went 6-2 this year, so there is definitely a bright future ahead for the program.

Even though the team will lose a talented senior group next year, the team still has much talent and will be a winning program for years to come.
