NJ Covid Update

In New Jersey, many places are starting to reopen and Covid cases are decreasing. The Covid-19 cases have been decreasing which is allowing for businesses to start to reopen and the capacity for the number of people at a gathering are getting higher.
According to Nj.com On Saturday, May 8th, New Jersey reported 1,030 cases and 24 covid deaths. Covid 19 hospilizations have dropped at their lowest point in over 6 months.
Governor Phil Murphy is starting to reopen businesses and get rid of the Covid restrictions because the Covid cases in New Jersey are improving. The changes for these new rules will take effect on May 10th.
Governor Phil Murphy announced an increase in capacity for indoor and outdoor events. The capacity for indoor events like proms, funerals and weddings will increase 50%. The maximum number of people will be 250.
The capacity for outdoor events will increase in two weeks from 200 to 500 people. The capacity limit for large outdoor events like outdoor sports, concerts, or any outdoor entertainment will rise to 50%.
Many teachers are able to get vaccinated and because of that Governor Phil Murphy is expecting for all schools to do in school learning starting in September, if not earlier.
Governor Murphy also announced that day and sleepaway camps will be able to reopen this summer. No Covid outbreaks were reported during any camps.

Many sports are allowed to run now. Since there are many covid restrictions they can run without many problems. Indoor sports were able to run as well now like volleyball and basketball, which volleyball was not able to be played in the beginning of the school year.
Many people are looking for everything to go back to normal. Several businesses are starting to slowly get back to normal. To conclude, because of all the new covid restrictions many things are starting to reopen and the covid cases are starting to decrease.
