Mcgregor vs Poirier 3

Connor McGregor and Dustin Poirier have had two fights prior to this upcoming battle, resulting in a win for Connor in fight one, and a win for Dustin after the second. This fight will likely be the last bout of these two fighters.

Connor has been the face of UFC ever since knocking out Jose Aldo in 13 seconds; from then on, he lived up to the hype. In 2018, Connor accepted the fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov, which would be a career changing decision. Since his bout with Khabib, he has not been as successful in the octagon.

As for Dustin, he has had a steady career and with a knockout coming out in the second round of the most recent fight, he has the upper hand in this third bout. As of now, Dustin does not have a belt but is still easily one of the best lightweight contenders. This upcoming fight will be the biggest of his career.

At the weigh in of the last fight, they both showed mutual respect for each other but could also be seen showing aggression. Both fighters will likely change their training regimens and how they approach this fight.

Although training camp has not started yet for either fighters, they will likely be in the gym working alone with their teams with no media covering them.

I think that Mcgregor will win this fight because he has shown to rise to the challenge when it is needed most, and most importantly his legacy is on the line. Even though he is older and Poirier is running on a hot ego, I think he can pull through one last time.
