The state of New Jersey has recently rolled out a plan of how they will distribute the Covid-19 vaccine to citizens. Any adults who work or are being educated in New Jersey are set to receive the vaccine in the upcoming future, with an equal opportunity to get it.

New Jersey has a well-thought out plan where the goal is to vaccinate 70 percent of adults who live in the state in a time period of six months. The vaccine will be given out in phases to ensure a good transition and to provide trust in it.

According to the Official Site of the State of New Jersey, the plan begins with Phase 1A, which is available now to those who qualify, including people who work in healthcare settings who have the potential to get exposed to the deadly virus. Phase 1B of the vaccination will be available to frontline workers and adults who are over seventy-five years old. The next phase, Phase 1C, will go to any other essential workers, individuals who are aged 65-74, and people from the age 16-64 who have underlying health conditions and are considered high risk.

Phases 1B and 1C are currently in the process of being completed and will be finalized at the end of 2021. After Phase 1 has been accomplished, New Jersey plans to proceed to Phase 2, which will be accessible for the general public.

According to the Official Site of the State of New Jersey, in December 2020, New Jersey was given 400,000 doses of the vaccine to be distributed all across the state. More than a quarter of those doses will be given to health care facilities and more than half of the doses will be given to hospitals and community sites.

In the first week of 2021, New Jersey was given an additional 106,000 doses of the vaccine. Half will be going to health care facilities and the other half will go to hospitals.

New Jersey has partnered with multiple companies in order to distribute the vaccine in a more convenient way for citizens.  Rite-Aid will be responsible for giving vaccines to homecare and hospice staff. With CVS and Walgreens, there are over 500 long-term care facilities and over 100,000 residents who are planned to receive the vaccination starting in February 2021.

Once healthcare workers are vaccinated, CVS and Walgreens will continue to provide the vaccine for other staff in group homes and senior living facilities.

There will be six mega sites to get the vaccine in six different counties: Atlantic County, Bergen County, Burlington County, Gloucester County, Middlesex County, and Morris County. All of these sites will be opened throughout the month of January and will distribute the vaccines fairly.

Residents are now able to schedule their appointments for a vaccination for Phase 1A. If you are not qualified for this phase, you can get notified about when you will be able to receive the vaccination.

People of New Jersey are delighted to hear that New Jersey has a thought out plan in order to vaccinate everyone in the state. This pandemic has been tough for many people and this vaccine will start to give people hope for the future.
