On December 12, 2020, many Army and Navy football fans crowded their TVs to watch the ultimate rivalry game. The football game was held at West Point, home of the Army football team. The Army Navy game has not been held at West Point since 1943. The two teams usually play at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but, due to Covid, they were unable to play there.

In order to safely get all the football players, coaches, and spectators to the field, the Navy football team had two hundred buses shuttling them to West Point.

Since the Army Navy game is such a big deal, they only allow spectators to be present for that game. The only fans that were allowed there were some students at both the Navy academy, and West Point. 9,000 spectators were in attendance on the Saturday game, according to USA Today

All students were quarantined before the game, and temperatures were taken before entering the stadium. All students were required to wear a mask at all times while watching the game. They were separated and grouped due to regulations, and made sure no Army student was by a Navy student, to keep socially distant.

The final score of the game was 15-0 Army. This was Army’s first win against the Navy since December 10, 2016. Before 2016, the Army football team had a fourteen game losing streak that started after their 2001 game with an ending score of 21-17, Army. The Army Navy football game is something many people look forward to, and many were excited that the teams were able to play this year.
