The Wait is Over

On February 2nd in Miami, Florida, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 in Super Bowl LIV, to win their first Super Bowl title in 50 years.
The Kansas City Chiefs have not won a Super since January 11, 1970, but have won their second ever just a few days ago. Throughout this Super Bowl, there were many record-setting accomplishments. The first female coached in a Super Bowl, over ten non-drafted players played in the game (five starters from each of the teams) and the quarterback is among the youngest ever to win a Super Bowl.
The first female to coach in a Super Bowl is Katie Sowers. According to USA Today, “49ers’ Katie Sowers on being the first woman to coach in the Super Bowl: ‘Make sure that I’m not the last.’ When Katie Sowers coaches for the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in Super Bowl LIV against the Kansas City Chiefs, she’ll be the first woman and openly LGBT person to do so in an NFL championship game.”

“The Chiefs became the first team in NFL history to win three games after trailing by 10-or-more points in a single postseason. Patrick Mahomes also became the youngest quarterback to win Super Bowl MVP (24 years, 138 days old). He also is the youngest player to win NFL MVP and a Super Bowl title.”

First Quarter
The 49ers got a field goal at the end of their first drive, leading 3-0.
The quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, gets a rushing touchdown to put the Chiefs up 7-3.
Second Quarter
The Chiefs get an interception and then drive down and get another field goal, leading 10-3.
San Francisco answers right back with a touchdown from their fullback, tying it up 10-10.
Third Quarter
The 49ers get the ball in the third quarter and drive down to get a field goal taking back the lead 13-10.
San Francisco scores running back Raheem Mostert scores a touchdown bringing the score up to 20-10.
Fourth Quarter
Travis Kelce catches a one yard touchdown to cut the lead within three points, making the score 20-17.
Running back Damian Williams catches a touchdown to bring the Chiefs up by four points, 24-20.
The last score of the game was a 38-yard rushing touchdown by the Chiefs running back to clinch the Super Bowl win 31-20.

This Super Bowl has been one of the best ones in a while with all of the accomplishments and records broken. The Chiefs have finally won the world championship for the first time in 50 years, which was an amazing victory to witness. Overall, there is nothing better than winning the big game at the end of the year and the Chiefs were this year’s world champions.
