The new Madden 20, which was released August 2, 2019 in stores everywhere, has many new and interesting features that has been brought up by EA Sports when compared to past madden games According to fans, these new changes make makes it arguably the best one yet.

One of the new features in Madden 20 is a gamemode called Superstar KO. This is a gamemode where first you pick what you want to play: 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3. Then you pick your base team. According to Madden, “Each team has unique strengths and weaknesses that you will have to learn. The playbooks that each team uses are entirely custom for Superstar KO, so don’t expect to see what you’d see in other modes in Madden. Another thing is how visually distinct the teams are: they all have unique uniforms, fun coaches, and a unique history.” 

Once you pick your base team, you then have to pick your superstars. According to Madden, “These superstars will be random offensive or defensive players. As you play, you’ll add more superstars after each win, until you have three on both sides of the ball.” These players have different ranks; they are either common, rare, ultra rare, or legendary. 

Once you pick your team, it’s time to play. According to Madden, “Once you enter the game, players each get a drive from their own 25-yard line. There are no special teams in Superstar KO, so there are no kickoffs, punts, or field goals, just 75 yards in front of you. If you can score a touchdown, you must go for two. Once your drive is over, your opponent takes over with the same goal. If they match your score, we go to a tiebreaker. Otherwise the game is over.” 

For the tiebreaker, you play something called tug of war. According to Madden, “Players start at the 50-yard line and take turns alternating plays on offense until they score or plays run out. After the plays run out, whoever is closest to their opponents end zone wins. In Superstar KO, at launch, each team will have three plays on offense to move the ball in the right direction. Once those plays end, or a touchdown is scored, the game is over.”

I think that this is the best part of the new Madden 20. They really needed to add something new that would spice up the game a little after years and years of basically the same game over and over again, and EA did just that.

Another great feature they added was the new animations and better graphics. They now added new celebrations you can do when you score a touchdown, which is different for most players. This makes the game more exciting, especially when playing with friends. 

The graphics this year in the new Madden 20, when compared to last years Madden 19, are excellent. They got all the little details right and I give props to Frostbite Engine for doing such a great job. Overall, there are many reasons why you should go out and buy the new Madden 20. If the new animations and graphics didn’t grab your attention, the new game mode Superstar KO definitely will.
