On October 9, 2025, Emerson Jr-Sr. High School hosted its annual Powder Puff game. This annual tradition consists of the Junior and Senior girls competing against each other in flag football, and the Junior and Senior boys dressing up as cheerleaders to perform their cheer routines. The stands were filled with cheering fans as the girls faced off in an exciting match-up, with the Senior girls taking home the win. Our school receives and showcases cheer uniforms, customized jerseys, and school spirit, creating enjoyable memories.
Students maintained school spirit and demonstrated teamwork while also being competitive. Highlighting one of our seniors, Francesca Ramaci, who scored a touchdown during the Powderpuff game, brought her best effort forward, and played hard. All of the girls did a great job and played very well.
The boys, on the other hand, did a fantastic job performing the cheerleaders’ halftime routine. Each of them followed every step, every jump, and every lift – even adding their own touches. The crowd was filled with laughter and pride.
The Juniors and Seniors practiced their plays and routines outside of school during the nighttime, which resulted in a big success and their hard work paying off.
During this week, Spirit Week took place at Emerson High School. The whole week in school consisted of theme dress-up days, activities, and more. We ended this exciting week on Friday (October 10th), with our annual pep rally during the day and the homecoming football game at night. It was a fun week where both the students and staff came together to show their Cavo pride.
Our senior theme was Sesame Street. The seniors gathered outside of the school the morning of the pep rally, dressed up in their onesies, handing out snacks and accessories to all who walked in. This added a special touch to our school spirit and the pep rally itself.
The results of this super-fun week: the Juniors and Seniors had to face each other on the gym floor at the end of the pep rally to reveal the winner, which was the Seniors. Everyone was jumping, yelling, crowding around each other, and being in the moment. The pep rally and the Powderpuff game are two very unforgettable and exciting events, especially for the Senior class.
There’s more to come. Just wait.
Go Seniors!
