Burt McCarroll, a track star for Emerson Junior/Senior High School talks about the strengths and weaknesses for his team and personal upcoming track season. Burt has been running track all four years of his high school career as a long distance runner and is coming on his last year as a senior for the track team. The Emerson track team has been very successful in the previous years winning many meets and even winning the Section sophomore year.

Burt stated that “the biggest strengths of the team are their really because of their depth and we have a really strong throwing team this year, and we heop for those to play a big part in our season.”

They have many goals as a team aas burt states “we hope to win bergen county relays and win the league championships” Emerson has previously lost four times in the last four years to Cresskill and this year Burt believes that this year will be different.

Nutrition is a key thing that Burt and the captains focus on. He said that bananas, clementines, and a lot of water is very important to keep your body in top shape before meets.

Burt is a very caring captain who holds everyone accountable. He works very hard to lead his team to their end goals and does everything he can to help others.
