The 2018-19 Emerson basketball season will kick off Friday December 14 at 7pm at the Waldwick High School gymnasium. EHS senior captain Peter Durocher is expecting big things out of this first game and many fans are expecting a season opening win as well.

“It’s pretty surreal. I am a senior, I have one season left of playing basketball.”

Last season the Emerson basketball team went 17-10 and Waldwick went 6-19. Both teams are looking to get a good start Friday. But Emerson is looking for bigger and better things and feels very confident going into this game. Durocher explained why this particular game is so important.

“This sets the tone for the whole season. We either start 1-0 or 0-1.”

Emerson has been constantly watching films on this game and other teams they will face next week, and they’ve been practicing non stop on their skills and what they need to do to win this game and have success through the season.

The basketball team is expecting all parents and Cavo Crazies to come out to this first and every other game this season to support and cheer them on as they battle against their opponents on the court!
