Sophomore Emma Callagy has been an active member of the EHS Key Club since her freshman year. She recently explained what the club is about, how to get in the club itself and her experiences in it.

“Key Club is a group of people that come together to do service projects for the community.” Callagy stated. “In the club, we are sometimes separated into committees, but most of the time we just work together as a whole.”

Callagy also explained how Key Club is unique compared to the other clubs at EHS.

“What makes Key Club different is that we do a lot more for the community.”

Key Club is an amazing thing and you really feel good after every service project that you participate in”

— Emma Callagy

To get into Key Club, one has to be at least a freshman to join, and also has to send in an application and be accepted. This is so that the club can ensure that every member who is accepted will be active.

There are many different projects that the Club involves itself in, but this one stands out the most for Callagy:

“My favorite project that we’ve done would probably be for mental health awareness month. ”

If you are looking for a club that gives a lot back to their community, then Key Club is perfect for you. Callagy’s reasoning for joining the club in the first place was to be able to involve herself in an environment where people come together to do things for others and bring awareness to issues that are in need of attention.

Callagy concluded, ” Key Club is an amazing thing and you really feel good after every service project that you participate in.”
