Burt McCarroll is a senior captain of the Emerson soccer team. So far the Cavos boys soccer team is 2-6 and, despite the rough start, Burt and the rest of the team believe they can still have a successful season if they stay focused.

“It was a rough start. We lost some games we should have won but the team remains focused and we are playing better now,” said Burt.

With eight freshmen, the boys soccer team this year is very young. Some believe this lack of experience is why the team lacks confidence.

“The team lacks confidence, which is why we had a rough start,” he said

But Burt has high expectations for the rest of the season. He thinks they can make states and they hope to knock out Wallington in the process.

“We want to make a deep run in states and hopefully knock off Wallington,” he said.
