 Dominic ”Dom” Sbarbaro is a freshman, and one of the captains for the Emerson freshman soccer team. He has been playing soccer for three years, but his is his first year playing for the high school team.

“I hope I can be the goalie for varsity because it would be a good learning experience and a great accomplishment, to be on freshman and play for varsity,” Sbarbaro said.

As both a captain and goalie, Dom helps his teammates in many ways, whether it is keeping the other team from scoring or instructing others on how to play the game correctly. He also makes  sure the team stays on task and doesn’t fool around, whether it is a practice or a game.

“Being a captain and a goalie is a little hard because people depend on me not only as a goalie but also a as a captain,” Sbarbaro explained.

The team is has 0 wins, 1 tie and 4 losses, but Dom still believes that if the freshman team keeps playing hard they will start to see results.

“Hopefully if we keep playing hard, executing, and focusing I think we can win most of our games coming up.”
