Aired on NBC starting from March 24, 2005 to May 6, 2013, The Office has taken its viewers by storm. The comedy show starring Steve Carrell, Rainn Wilson, John Kransinski, Jenna Fisher and many others takes place in an everyday paper company, Dunder Mifflin. The show is made to look like a real documentary. They achieve this by filming the show with a single- camera set up, personal interviews, and no studio audience and background laughs.

Throughout the show you are able to see the struggles and quirky times the people working at Dunder Mifflin Scranton go through while being led by their boss, Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell. He and his workers experience times of loss, love, and much more through out the first season alone! The first season had mixed feelings by viewers and there was talk about cancelling the show altogether, but as more episodes were being produced, ratings went up and NBC allowed The Office to keep making episodes.

The show was based off of the The Office UK, which has the same story line but presents the characters differently. When the American version first came out, there were people who ridiculed it for being too similar to the British version. But as the episodes continued, those people saw that although it they both had the same main storyline, they approached the characters in different ways, each unique to their own respective audiences.
