Emerson Junior Senior High School boys varsity soccer team got of to a bumpy start this season with their new coach, Baha Basaran. They came close to winning their first two games, against Hawthorne Christian and Park Ridge, but ended up losing both. Things turned around in the third game against Bogota and they ended up achieving a six to zero victory, but lost their next game against Waldwick.

After that loss the the Emerson Cavos and Coach Basaran went on a five game winning streak, and now the Emerson boys Varsity team has a current record of nine wins, five losses and one tie. Now with the state tournament right around the corner there is only one game left of the regular season, and it looks like the team has enjoyed a very successful year.

But of course, a win in states would be icing on the cake, especially since the Cavos got knocked out of the tournament last year and are looking for redemption by winning this year.

Coach Basaran ha seen his team make great strides over the past year will continue to have the Emerson boys varsity team work hard now and for the years to come!
